Each bolus contains:
Nitrofurazone IP 60 mg
Metronidazole IP 100 mg
Urea IP 6 gm
Povidone lodine IP 60 mg
Excipients q.s.
Urea : as cleansing of uterus with proteolytic activity It removes necrotic debris and it makes uterine medium alkaline and checks microbial growth
Nitrofurazone : It is a potent antibacterial, antiprotozoal agent and hence indicated in uterine infections of various etiology.
Metronidazole : an antibiotic with specific activity against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Povidone iodine : non-irritant non-staining and excellent antiseptic.
Indications :
• Pyometra • Retention of placenta • Metritis
• Endometritis • Repeat breeder due to endo metritis
• Uterine infections due to dystocia / tortion Cervicitis
Pack :
4 bolus aluminium foil packing with hand gloves
Dose :
Large animal : 2-4 Bolus INTRA UTERINE daily for 3 days
Small animal : 1-2 Bolus INTRA UTERINE daily for 3 days
